Verdict: Not Shovelware. Game Breaking Bug.
What I Say:
Ocean Media publish a huge range and variety of Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure games. This title has some variants on their usual fare; the puzzles are harder than usual, some of the hidden object screens are quite difficult and the story periodically switches between non-identical twin protagonists.
The premise of the story is that a body has been found in a cinema, drained of blood and it is up to you to figure out what happened.
I was progressing steadily through this game, despite the sometimes illogical item pairings, until I hit a game-breaking bug about halfway through (see Image 7 below). One of the puzzles requires you to rotate a game board left and right by clicking on the arrows. Unfortunately, the relevant screen plays the appropriate audio cue but doesn’t actually rotate. The puzzle can’t be skipped, making this a game-breaking bug. Given the relative difficulty of the puzzles to this point in the game and the distance into the game where I encountered the bug, I am loathe to restart this game to troubleshoot this bug.
